IT Audit Officer Job Opportunity – MiBank
MiBank is inviting applications from qualified and motivated individuals for the position of IT Audit Officer within its Internal Audit Unit, based at the Head Office in Port Moresby.
Position Purpose
The IT Audit Officer will conduct audits to assess the effectiveness of IT systems, identify risks and weaknesses, and ensure system integrity, security, and efficiency in line with relevant standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Manager Internal Audit in developing and executing risk-based audit plans
- Evaluate IT systems, applications, and infrastructure for compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies
- Prepare detailed audit reports with findings, recommendations, and action plans
- Collaborate with IT and business teams to address audit issues and implement improvements
- Conduct follow-up reviews to ensure corrective actions are effectively implemented
- Stay updated on emerging IT audit trends, technologies, and best practices
- Maintain audit documentation including working papers and evidence
- Support delivery of IT-related training and awareness within the organisation
Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- Professional certification such as CISA or equivalent is an advantage
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in IT audit
- Strong understanding of banking systems, databases, cybersecurity, and governance frameworks (COBIT, ITIL, NIST)
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and technologies
- Ability to build positive working relationships across all levels
- Capable of working independently and meeting deadlines
