About the Role
UNDP is seeking a qualified Project Gender & Safeguards Specialist to support climate, environment, and sustainable development projects in Papua New Guinea. The role focuses on integrating gender equality and environmental and social safeguards across project planning, implementation, and monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead gender equality strategies and Gender Action Plans
• Ensure compliance with environmental and social safeguards (UNDP and GEF standards)
• Provide technical guidance on gender and risk management
• Deliver training and capacity building for stakeholders
• Monitor, evaluate, and report on gender and safeguards performance
• Support policy engagement and partnerships

Requirements

• Master’s degree with 5 years experience OR Bachelor’s degree with 7 years experience
• Experience in gender, safeguards, or development/environment projects
• Strong coordination and reporting skills
• Proficiency in MS Office and data systems
• Fluency in English and Tok Pisin
