Catholic Church Health Services (CCHS) under the Diocese of Kundiawa has announced several job vacancies at St. Joseph’s (Mingende) Rural Hospital and other affiliated health facilities in Simbu Province. The recruitment targets professionals committed to delivering faith-based healthcare in rural settings.
The available positions include:
• Medical Officers
CCHS is seeking dedicated Medical Officers to provide comprehensive medical care and support patient management. The responsibilities include diagnosing and treating various medical conditions, prescribing treatment plans, and maintaining accurate medical records. Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from UPNG or Divine Word University, be registered under the PNG Medical Board, and possess strong communication skills and a willingness to serve in rural areas.
• Dental Surgeon
A skilled Dental Surgeon is needed to offer quality dental care, perform procedures such as extractions and fillings, and promote oral health. Candidates must have a Bachelor's in Dentistry or equivalent, a valid license from the PNG Medical Board, and experience in general dentistry.
• Psychiatric Nurse (Specialist)
CCHS is looking for a qualified Psychiatric Nurse to provide care for patients with mental health conditions. The role includes assessments, care planning, administering medication, and collaborating with psychiatrists. Applicants should have a nursing qualification with psychiatric specialization, valid PNG Nursing Council registration, and experience in mental health care.
• Midwives
The Midwives will support women throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care. They will deliver antenatal and postnatal services and promote maternal and neonatal health. A Diploma or Degree in Midwifery and valid PNG Nursing Council registration are required, along with experience in maternal health.
• Ambulance Drivers
Ambulance Drivers are needed to safely transport patients to healthcare facilities. The position requires a valid driver’s license, knowledge of traffic laws, and the ability to remain calm during emergencies. Preference will be given to those with experience operating emergency vehicles.
• Medical Laboratory Scientist
The role involves conducting accurate laboratory tests, maintaining equipment, and ensuring quality standards. Candidates must have a Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, registration with the PNG Medical Board, and experience in clinical lab settings.
• Hygienist (Janitor)
A reliable Janitor is required to maintain hygiene standards within the facility. Duties include cleaning, disinfecting, and ensuring supplies are restocked. Previous experience in healthcare cleaning, knowledge of disinfectants, and adherence to safety protocols are essential.
