Job: HR Administrative Assistant Salvation Army

The Salvation Army Papua New Guinea & Solomon Islands Territory is inviting suitably qualified and experienced candidates to apply for the position of HR Administrative Assistant, based at the Territorial Headquarters in Port Moresby.


Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum Grade 10 or Grade 12 with a Diploma in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or Office Management.
  • At least three (3) years of work experience in HR or administrative support roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and contribute to organisational change.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to complete tasks in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to solve problems effectively and work independently when required.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.


Competent computer skills.

  • Strong organisational and public relations skills.
  • Punctual and reliable, with proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Must be a Christian with zero tolerance for betelnut, smoking, and alcohol.


Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage daily administrative tasks for the Human Resource Department.
  • Prepare written communications on behalf of the HR department.
  • Handle telephone inquiries and make appropriate referrals.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, internal memos, and documents.
  • Maintain HR filing systems and conduct regular filing.
  • Prepare meeting minutes, agendas, and take notes when required for HR Board Meetings.
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers, and external service providers.
  • Maintain and replenish office supplies for the HR and Administration teams.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
