Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) Papua New Guinea is inviting applications for its six-week Trainee Internship Program in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (Avionics), based in Mt Hagen.
This internship provides practical, hands-on training for young Papua New Guineans who are passionate about aviation and want to pursue a long-term career in aircraft maintenance engineering.
About MAF Papua New Guinea
MAF is an international Christian aviation organisation dedicated to bringing help, hope, and healing to remote and isolated communities. MAF has operated in Papua New Guinea since 1951 and currently flies to more than 200 airstrips across the country.
Internship Position: AME (Avionics) – Mt Hagen
The internship is designed to introduce trainees to key engineering principles, avionics systems, and practical maintenance tasks under the supervision of certified Aircraft Maintenance Engineers.
Who Can Apply
- Completed Grade 12
- Current or recent student in an engineering, technical, or aviation-related program
- Strong interest in aviation or aircraft maintenance
- Willing to learn and follow instructions in a safety-focused environment
What You Will Learn
- Introduction to Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (Avionics)
- Basic safety practices and maintenance procedures
- Troubleshooting and diagnostic techniques
- Use of avionics tools, equipment, and test instruments
- Hands-on engineering tasks in a real aircraft hangar
