The CPP Office within the Programme Department is seeking a suitable candidate for the position of Project Accountant.

Job Description

The Project Accountant will report to the Chief Accountant and work closely with the CPP Coordinator, Territorial Development Officer, and Secretary for Business Administration. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in project accounting, financial operations, budgeting, and reporting, with the ability to think innovatively about providing financial insights for effective decision-making.

• Duties and Responsibilities
• Financial management and reporting
• Budget and financial oversight
• Monthly reconciliation and expense management
• Compliance and risk management
• Strong communication skills
• Collaboration and stakeholder engagement
• Participation in decision-making bodies including the CPP Expenditure Board and Project Expenditure Board

Education, Experience and Skills Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Professional certification such as CPA, CA, or ACCA is preferred
• Three to five years of relevant experience in accounting or financial management, preferably within donor-funded projects
• Experience in grant management accounting and compliance with donor financial reporting requirements is an advantage
• Proficiency in NetSuite or similar ERP and accounting software
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations, accounting standards, and reporting requirements in a donor-funded environment
• Interpersonal skills including communication, problem solving, conflict management, and collaboration
• Knowledge of compliance frameworks, audit requirements, and risk management strategies
