About the Organisation:

Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) is an international Christian organisation committed to using aviation and technology to bring help, hope, and healing to isolated and disadvantaged communities. MAF has been operating in Papua New Guinea since 1951 and currently operates 10 aircraft serving over 200 airstrips across the country.

Role Overview:

The Quality, Safety and Security (QSS) Officer will support MAF PNG in implementing and maintaining the Quality, Safety, and Security Management System. The role ensures compliance with safety and quality standards, fosters continuous improvement, and manages risk. The QSS Officer may have a primary focus on either Quality or Safety, with additional responsibilities as required. This position reports to either the Programme Safety Manager or the Programme Quality Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and maintain quality, safety, and security systems.
• Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety procedures.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and risk mitigation.
• Support internal training and safety initiatives.

Recruitment Requirements:

Education & Qualifications:

• Minimum of Grade 12 education.
• Knowledge of OH&S systems and procedures.
• Effective communication skills.
• Desirable: Tertiary education.
• Desirable: Certificate in workplace, health and safety.

Job Experience:

• Experience working on complex tasks that require initiative.
• Desirable: Background in occupational health and safety.
• Desirable: Experience in the aviation industry.

Personal Qualities:

• Committed Christian with a desire to serve God through MAF’s mission.
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong teamwork, leadership, and planning skills.

Key Behaviours:
