ECONOMIC PROGRAM OFFICER
Reference: 20006482
Reporting to the Senior Economic Programs Officer, you will be responsible for the implementation of cost-effective short and long term plans/ inputs into the development of local businesses and the greater regional economy in accordance with commercial best practices.
Your role will involve:
- Focusing on creating values for the Tabubil Community and other targeted economic hubs through the promotion of non-mined related businesses and investment opportunities;
- Providing assistance to non-CMCA Trust related activities;
- Facilitating, promoting and ensuring community and economic development in order to secure viable opportunities for economic and business opportunities and increase local community benefit; and
- Provide business management advice, financial management planning advice and substantiated legal advice relating to company and business law as legislated by the PNG Government.
To be considered, you must possess the following:
- University Degree in Business/Accounting/Economics/Commerce/Finance or related;
- 5+years’ experience in a similar role within the Mining or related extractive industries,
- Proficient in business and financial management background with a demonstrated ability to manage research and monitoring programmes in other areas;
- High level of competency in MS Office applications,
- Excellent documentation, communication, interpersonal, teamwork and analytical skills.
